Northern New Hampshire is a region is blessed with an abundance of trout ponds. While only a few of these ponds sustain wild brook trout populations, many of the remote ponds have excellent water quality and are part of NH Fish and Game’s aerial trout stocking program. These ponds are stocked annually by helicopter with tiny fingerling brook trout. These fish are stocked with the expectation that they will survive and grow for many seasons and create a high quality fishery where otherwise one may not exist. Some of these fisheries yield high numbers of fish, others yield fewer yet bigger fish. Either way, these ponds offer a remote, scenic fishing experience deep in the New Hampshire woods, where sightings of wildlife frequently outnumber sightings of other anglers. Our ponds fish well from ice-out until the close of the season October 15th. Best fishing is typically Spring and Fall, but some ponds fish well mid-summer, especially the ones with a Hexagenia Mayfly hatch!
